A power of attorney in civil law systems is an authorization to act on someone else’s behalf in a business or legal issue. The person authorizing the other to act is the principal or granter (of the power), and the one authorized to act is the agent or attorney-in-fact

Some Basic Advice

*  Appoint two attorneys. If you make the appointment “joint but not several”, it means neither can act without the knowledge and approval of the other.
*  Appoint a professional or a trustee company. They should have standards of record keeping and accounting which individuals may not have.
*  Restrict their powers. Instead of giving an attorney full powers, you can specify the limits of what they can do (access your accounts but not sell your house, for example). But don’t go overboard with this. Having an attorney hamstrung with countless restrictions while you’re unable to look after yourself could be as bad as having no attorney at all.

Law is a set of ideals / rules normally policed through a system of government appointed institutions.

Law affects life and society everyday in many ways.

Contract law controls everything from purchasing a tram pass to selling a huge company.

Property law defines rights and obligations related to selling, purchasing, or leasing realestate property such as houses and commercial buildings.

Trust law applies to assets held for future investment, such as share holdings, and pension funds and so on. Legal law allows claims for repayment when an indivdual or their personal property is affected with damage or stolen.

However if the damage is criminalised in a law code, criminal law offers ways and means to dutifuly prosecute and punish the individual or individuals commiting the act.

Constitutional law extends a framework for administering laws, protecting people’s rights and human rights overall, and by electing political reps, even though administrative law allows ordinary citizens to challenge the way governments exercise power.

International law controls affairs between sovereign nation-states in everything from trade to the environment to military action.
